Tips to relax by team F&S
Part 4: Movies to watch

The Team of Fosbury & Sons would like to share some tips to shake up your routines. These activities will give you a sense of accomplishment, and keep your mind engaged and active, and they'll also distract you from anxiety. In the long run, it's very helpful to give ourselves mental breaks. These simple tips and to do’s will help you relax and put things in perspective — in between washing your hands, of course.
Part 4: Movies to watch
The choice of Claire, our Project Manager:
What's it about? This lovestory between a famous American movie star (Julia Roberts) and a dorky British bookstore owner (Hugh Grant) is my number one.
Why this movie? I'm a hopeless romantic. The line “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her”, gets me every time! Of course Spike, the socially awkward roommate, is the absolute best.
The choice of Sarah, our Events Lead in Harmony:
La Grande Bellezza
What's it about? La Grande Bellezza is about an ageing writer who has spent many years seducing his way through the lavish nightlife of Rome for decades, but after his 65th birthday, he starts to look past the nightclubs and parties to find a landscape of excquisite beauty.
Why this movie? This movie is about the eternal struggle between age and youth, the past and the future, life and death, commitment and betrayal. Apart from the theme, I love the way he portrays things, it’s filled with photographic images.
The choice of Elle, our Marketing Manager:
Call Me By Your Name
What's it about? An extraordinary love story in idyllic Italy in the eighties.
Why this movie? A true gem that made me shed a tear - or two. It’s now on Netflix and the soundtrack is also amazing.
The choice of Charlotte, our Front Desk & Venue Officer Albert:
Lord Of The Rings
What's it about? A young hobbit, Frodo, who has found the Ring that belongs to the Dark Lord, begins his journey with eight companions to Mount Doom, the only place where it can be destroyed.
Why this movie? I never saw any of the LOTR movies until two weeks ago and now I am more than hooked. In times like this it’s such a pleasure to escape this world and travel (in our imagination of course) to this beautiful fantasy world (the landscapes, the music!). And when things get rough I’ll tell myself ‘if Frodo can walk months and months with the ring around his neck, I can do a couple of weeks in isolation ;)’
The choice of Julie, our Events Lead
What's it about? Based on the true story of Saroo Brierley who, at the age of 5, was separated from his family in India as he fell asleep on a train and woke up 1600 kilometers away from home. Saroo was later adopted by an Australian couple and after 25 years, he began searching for his Indian family.
Why this movie? You’ll be impressed and touched by the realism, authenticity and truth of the first part of the movie!
The choice of Elise, our Jr. Digital Marketeer:
What's it about? When journalist David Scheff (played by Steve Carrell) discovers his teenage son Nic has been experimenting with drugs, he has to face the grim reality of being the parent of an addict as his son transforms into someone he barely recognises.
Why this movie? A based-on-fact family drama whose truths may hit too hard for some, but are worth suffering if only to witness Timothée Chalamet’s (David’s son) performance. Just fantastic performed.
The choice of Audry, our Office Manager Building & Construction:
What's it about? It is a musical about a forbidden love story between a courtesan and a poet.
Why this movie? I cannot watch it without singing along every single word!
The choice of Robin, our Clan Lead in The Netherlands:
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
What's it about? From the mind of the director of the moment: Taika Waititi. A national manhunt is ordered for a rebellious kid and his foster uncle who go missing in the wild New Zealand bush.
Why this movie? The charming tale of a terrible twosome.
The choice of Magali, our Front Desk & Venue Officer:
The Last Days of Disco
What's it about? Story of two quintessential female book editors fresh out of college, both finding love and themselves while frequenting the local discos such as Studio 54.
Why this movie? A witty delight!
