Newyear2

This year taught us that slowing down actually feels good, that long walks energize us and that a home cooked meal warms the soul. We learned that beautiful moments with family, friends and colleagues are not for granted. In 2021 we'll cherish these moments more than ever. Here's to a new beginning. We've asked our Team F&S what were the biggest achievements and lessons this past year.

Elise, our Content Manager

What are the biggest lessons you have learnt in 2020?
"Normally I am quite a controle freak, and a big planner in advance. This year was different, and taught me to slow things down, day by day. Everything can't always go the way that I want. Also not to take anything for granted, and especially cherish the times with loved ones."

"This year taught me that I already have everything to be happy for."

If you could describe the year 2020 in one sentence, what would that be?
"A year to think about all the positive things in your life, and slowing down."

What are your goals for 2021?
"Even more cherish the moments with the ones I love and find inner peace in nature, to sometimes take some time off and get away from the hustle in the city"

Do you have any New Years's resolutions in mind?
"Sports, sports, sports! I’d like to pick up my yoga lessons again and to have a good change, I’d like to go running and ride my racing bike once in a while. Next to that, I would like to ‘upgrade’ my cooking skills, and test more and more food from different cultures and let’s hope & pray that I can organize a lot of dinner evenings with friends and family in 2021."

Charlotte, our Location Manager at Albert

What are the biggest lessons you have learnt in 2020?
"2020 taught me 3 big lessons: The first one is to choose more consciously when and how I want to participate in the ‘rat race’ of daily life. Second, be aware of how I live (what you buy/eat/do) and thereby take care of not only yourself, but also of our mother earth and everyone living on it. Last but not least, having people around you that love you (including yourself!) is all that you need essentially."

What were the biggest challenges or achievements in 2020?
"The biggest challenges were not having my loved ones as physically close as I would want them to be and seeing so much struggle in the world. My achievement is staying positive and hopeful despite of it."

If you could describe the year 2020 in one sentence, what would that be?
"Painful yet beautiful, challenging yet exciting."

What are your goals for 2021?
"Keep on exploring what I want in life and what I find important. It’s a work in progress."

Do you have any New Years's resolutions in mind?
"Doing yoga on a daily basis!"
